AWESOME AUGUST AFTERNOONS
Our first ever Awesome August Afternoons were held on August 22-23 and 29-30, 2016. We had tons of fun at our Board Game Parties with bingo, picharades and more! Exciting trips to Assiniboine Park Zoo and The Manitoba Museum rounded out our adventures.
Thank you to all of our helpers & supporters for making our Awesome August Afternoons so special. We couldn't have done it without YOU!
north end community helpers network strategic networking retreat
On Thursday, October 13, 2016 and Friday, October 14, 2016, North End Community Helpers Network held our 9th annual Strategic Networking Retreat at Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre's Windy Hill Community Training, Healing and Learning Centre in Hillside Beach, Manitoba. Our 2-day retreat was an opportunity for members to connect, build leadership skills, share their gifts, strengthen team capacity and determine how best to work together to support one another in the work we do as community helpers.
So many great memories with our NECHN friends, we can't wait for next year!
NORTH END COMMUNITY RENEWAL CORPORATION PICNIC IN THE PARK
North End Community Renewal Corporation's Picnic in the Park is an annual family fun day that promotes a positive image of the North End of Winnipeg while celebrating the cultural diversity of the community. It is held at St. John’s Park, where thousands of North End residents enjoy local entertainment (stage hosted by Aboriginal Music Week), children’s activities, games and prizes, displays by local agencies and free BBQ!
Aboriginal Vision for the North End is a very proud partner of this event and we were thrilled to help out with the volunteer services at Picnic In The Park 2016.
